Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
Quite surprised no one has commented on this vendor yet. I placed one rather large order from them last fall, and as I was exploring Wuyi Yancha, it was mostly that sort of tea.
But that being said I thought all their Yancha's were interesting and even the one or two I was not partial to certainly were not bad. Also I like the fact that you can order a 25 gram sample of most of their teas, to get a larger variety or basis for sampling.

Their Anxi offerings are fantastic too. Some of the best TGY out there.
Definitely in my top five vendors. I am awaiting a package
as we speak.

Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
I'm a fan also. I bought:
-- 1 X Feng Huang Milan Dancong AAA - 25gr @ $8.90 = $8.90
-- 1 X Aged Single Bush Xing Ren - 50gr @ $36.00 = $36.00
-- 1 X Wuyi Seasonal Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea - 100gr @ $14.80 = $14.80
-- 1 X Wu Yi Rou Gui - 100gr @ $23.60 = $23.60
-- 1 X Single Bush Winter Yulan - 25gr @ $5.00 = $5.00
My favorite is the Mi Lan. There's a good sweetness to it with a variety of other flavors. I'm not good at verbose descriptions The letdown was the Xing Ren. I bought one of the 2008 ones and thought it was a lot richer tasting than the 2009. The DHP is very good value for a yan cha as is the rou gui. The Yu Lan is pretty good - reminds me of Da Wu Ye or maybe Fo Shou.

Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
I had ordered from them 3 oolong teas and only one, MiLan Dan Cong was acceptable in fact it was very good. One, forgot which one had less aroma and flavor than straw. To use it as a common tea I had to spice it up with those jasmin flavored tea balls. The 'Bei Dou 2004' was another disappointment. After a first try I put it away for further aging hoping it will improve in aroma and flavor. 2 years on I tried it again a week ago and may be it has somewhat improved.

I dont know why you didn´t like the 2004 Bei Dou it was one of my favourite teas while I still had some. I really enjoyed it´s warm toasty flavours.
Maybe it was just too roasted for your tastes? The Milan Dancong is certainly more focused on aroma and has quite a bit less roasting.

Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
I have finally tapped out my sample of Mao Xie from Jing Tea Shop. A little of this lovely tea goes a long way. Because it was a small sample, it often got tossed into a traveling tea kit and has been from China to Los Angeles to Las Vegas to Cleveland, and after all that traveling, and not being well resealed along the way, it still gave a good 8 infusions before giving out.
A very lovely tea.
I still have two other oolong samples yet to open: I hope to do a comparative tasting of several green-style TGYs with the one, and since the other teas I ordered have been so good (one yellow, two green), I have been saving the competition Shui Xian for a special occasion.

I can spare you a few grams yet.
Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
I've tried a couple of Oolongs from Jing and loved all of them. I also own one of their Yixing pots that I absolutely adore! Excellent craftsmanship, it's probably my highest quality Yixing (however I only have 3). Only positive comments here.

I´m not sure shipping for such a small quantity of tea would be worth it though...you live in asia don´t you?
I´m Canadian btw.

Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
I am getting a nice selection of oolong samples from Jing, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a tea they were particularly impressed by for me to order a larger quantity.
Re: Jing Tea Shop "Official" Oolong Tea Topic
Been too long since some oolong from jing!
Autumn Long Juan AAA was fantastic, reminded me kinda of a very good earthy boazhong underneath a non offensive tgy.
Milan AAA was really potent, still haven't brewed this with heavy packing, kinda hesitant to do so since it is so overwhelming (in a good way)
Huang Mei Gui was great. Wish I had bought more before sold out
